National Mentoring Month

1/10/2018 (Permalink)

January is National Mentoring Month! Our very own SERVPRO of Bay County office manager Crystal Arnold is taking big strides for our Bay County community by participating with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida to help provide mentorship to youth.

Currently, roughly one in three children are growing up without a positive role model to look up to. By taking some time each week, Crystal is changing that statistic by spending quality time with Torrina, whom she has been matched with for over two years. Crystal and Torrina spend their time together taking trips to the local library, reading, cooking, and doing other fun activities.

We are so proud of Crystal and her efforts to help better the Bay County community and make a difference. If you are interested in becoming a mentor with Big Brothers and Sisters of Northwest Florida, call 763-KIDS.

SERVPRO of Bay County is proud to present along with partner Panama City Toyota the Inaugural Fun in the Sun Mud Run!

The heart and mission of Fun in the Sun Mud Run is to bring a new event to our community and its guests, giving us the ability to raise funds for Charity. 100% of the proceeds will “Help Charities overcome obstacles one at a time”.

We believe in and encourage by example the spirit of team work, and as a team we envision everyone pitching in to do the dirty work. We have a dedicated committee, a swarm of volunteers, eager sponsors and the support of Bay County Inc. Together we will provide a family friendly environment with entertainment for spectators and a challenging muddy course for participants

Find out more about our event by visiting Funinthesunmudrun.com or visit our Facebook page.

Merry Marvin the Elf!

Our Winning Entry!

It’s the time of year to spread some cheer!

Here at SERVPRO Bay County we did just that, asking several of our clients to help us out by being creative with our elf, Merry Marvin.

The challenge was simple: be as creative as possible by decking out Marvin in any way they wanted. Once they had done this and submitted their entries, we then turned to our loyal social media followers and asked them to vote for their favorite. After a week of voting, close polls, and fan favorites pulling away, a big congratulations was given to the Bay County School’s Maintenance Office, who were crowned the winners for their amazing creation.

We would like to thank everyone who participated with us, and wish you a happy holiday season!

Honoring Our Heroes!

9/22/2016 (Permalink)

Do you remember where you were when the United States stood still?  A moment in time that changed the way we as Americans viewed our lives.  September 11, 2001 was forever burned into our minds as a day when thousands lost their lives, but in the horrible tragedy heroes emerged.

On September 10th, 2016 SERVPRO of Bay County and others gathered to pay tribute and honor those that lost their lives and those that showed great heroism.  The 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb brings together thousands of Bay County citizens as well as Fire Fighters and their families from all over the country to remember our fallen.   Participants, fire fighters, police officers and other public officers in full gear took each step remembering those that lost their lives in the Twin Towers.

SERVPRO of Bay County was pleased to be a sponsor again this year for such a heartwarming event and we are honored to work every day with some of the heroes that keep our community safe.

We as a nation will never forget what happened on that fateful day, but out of such loss comes a nation stronger and more determined than ever to protect our freedom.

Children and Disasters...Is your Family Prepared?

7/5/2016 (Permalink)

Developing a Family Emergency Plan prior to an event is an important step in making sure your family is safe.

We at SERVPRO of Bay County realize this and want to help! The Florida Division of Emergency Management provides a wealth of information on preparing your family.   We at SERVPRO of Bay County partners with FDEM along with our local chapter of the Red Cross to keep our community safe.   We are happy to help bring this information to you, for you and your family to prepare for this hurricane and storm season.

 Is my family prepared?

That is the first question you need to ask to keep your family safe. If the answer is yes, you are a step ahead.  If the answer is no, then follow the steps below to ensure the safety of your family!

  • Sit down as a family and decide how each person will be contacted, where you will meet, and where you will evacuate if instructed by officials. The information below will help you fill out your Family Emergency Plan.
  •  Record your out-of-town contact if your family is separated.
  •  Choose a family meeting place right outside your home in case of sudden emergency, like a fire.  Choose a regional location in case family members are not together.
  •  Put together your Disaster Supply Kit. This will include the basics like, food, water, and first aid to last your family for 3 days, and include some activities for children such as books or deck of playing cards.
